Washington-Wilkes Elementary School has been named a 2023-2024 Title I Reward School among Georgia's top-performing Title I schools. This distinguished recognition highlights the school’s exceptional improvement in student achievement and underscores its commitment to academic excellence.

The Title I Reward Schools designation is awarded to the top 5% of greatest-improving Title I schools across the state. Schools receiving this honor have demonstrated significant growth in content mastery scores in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics on statewide assessments, comparing results from the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 academic years. At the January 21, 2025, Wilkes County Board of Education meeting, Dr. Amy Harkins was presented with a certificate and a sign from the Georgia Department of Education. Congratulations to the administrators, teachers, staff, students, and families of Washington-Wilkes Elementary School for this well-deserved recognition!
