Starting in the school year 2024-2025, all four schools in Wilkes County will implement the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) through the Wilkes County School Nutrition Department. Beginning in August 2024, ALL Wilkes County students will receive breakfast and lunch free of charge.
Families won't need to submit free/reduced meal applications to qualify for these benefits. However, students will still need to pay for any additional items they wish to buy, such as ice cream, chips, Switch drinks, and other extras.
At Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School, students are responsible for settling any outstanding balances from previous school years. Graduation and the release of school records will be contingent upon clearing these meal balance dues.
